Tokyo Real Estate

The second month of babyhood is nearly finished for the family and I think we are getting a hang of the basic things. Luca can go out and about in her stroller too now so that makes my wife more mobile. It appears that Luca likes going out as she does not cry while outside so that makes things easier for us. We have even gone to restaurants with her and she sleeps through that so it's great.

Luca is gaining about 25 to 30 grams a day so if you don't see her for a couple of days you really notice a difference. She is getting more meat on her face and body finally. She is also gaining strength in her neck enough to move it around and switch positions. We are noticing that she is smiling more often now and every once in awhile catch a glimpse of her playing by herself. Month one and two have been great, hopefully month three will be just as great or better.

It has just passed the first month with the baby at home and things have been relatively smooth. At first I was sleeping with the baby and my wife but they wake up too frequently during the night waking me up that I sleep alone in my bedroom now. Problem solved.

I enjoy what little time I can spend with my family. I like bottle feeding my baby looking into her sparkling eyes wondering what she's thinking.

I didn't know that having a baby would bring so many gifts! I got a stroller from my uncle! Clothes and a baby bed from my parents. Clothes from my wife's parents. Clothes from my Aunt Barbara in the states. A baby bag from my coworker Asano-san. Blankets and bibs and little rattlers. My sister gave me a slew of presents too. Stuffed animals, socks and baby books. Friends and family have been so kind that we have barely had to buy anything yet. We even received diapers in the form of artwork put together to look like a giant wedding-type cake. I think the only thing we buy is that milk formula for when baby Luca isn't breast feeding.

I feel fortunate and wanted to share my gratitude to everyone that has contributed with material items and even for your thoughts and prayers. Arigato!

二年前三軒茶屋近くのコンビニ前でＡＴＭカードを見つけました。
そのカードをオーナーさんに返しましょうと部長と決めてカード会社へお問い合わせしました。
対応が早かったので無事オーナーさんに返却できました。
お礼に植物を頂きました。
最初は中目黒店で置くことにしました。
その春・夏に綺麗な花がいくつか咲きました。

その翌年どんどん伸びましたがなぜか花は咲かなかったです。

中目黒店にもう植物を置かないことに決めたのでお家にお持ち帰りしました。
今年は２０個くらい綺麗に咲きましたので心が嬉しくなりました。
それでカードのお話を思い出しました。

この植物名は何でしょうかね？！

ＢＡＢＹ琉花が産まれた日、６月２８日から咲き始めました！

６月２８日（月）　１５：５３　に帝王切開が成功し無事女の子が産まれました。
体重：２３７４ｇ　小さい！
慎重：４６ｃｍ

６月２８日　デビュー

Okay - my bonsai trees are starting to look alive now but not quite ready to post photos. They are budding or the leaves are beginning to open up but it is not there just yet. Hopefully this weeks warmth will speed things up a little.

So I plan to take photos of each of my beloved bonsai trees and post them up here. I figured they would look better with some leaves or flowers rather than just the trunk and branches naked.

I am happy they made it through the winter save for one which succumbed to illness late last fall. A moment of silence please.

Most importantly, I managed to keep the very old bonsai trees my grandfather entrusted me with.

The reason why I like the subject so much is because it is a very long process - it can be longer than one or two human lifetimes. While these bonsai trees are potted, they are dependent. With this comes responsibility but I get a lot out of it. I notice things even at the daily level and that makes me feel pretty happy. I feel I am becoming more patient since working with my bosai. I feel I pay more attention to small details. I feel more comfortable with long term committment. I feel more comfortable with taking care of life.

Every day after work when I get home, before I change I always take a look at all of my trees. It makes me feel peaceful inside. I am asked quite often, "don't you ever get bored looking at them all of the time??" but my answer is always, "no".

As you can tell from my blog, I like plants and trees and little bonsai.

The bonsai I was given from my grandfather are great but I pick up one every now and then to complement my set.

The latest is called jyu-gatsu sakura meaning October Sakura. This is interesting because normally all cherry blossoms - blossom in April but this one blossoms in April and October! I don't have a photo on hand now but I definitely will post some to share my relaxing pasttime.

I was driving back to my office after viewing some properties. I have lived in Tokyo for three Christmas seasons and this is the best decorated house I have seen.
